We have been developing upland, riparian, and wetland classification and management documents for western North America since 1978. During this time we have developed riparian and wetland classification and management documents for western North Dakota, western South Dakota, all of Montana, eastern and southern Idaho, southern half of Saskatchewan, southern half of Alberta, and the northern half of Alberta. In addition, we have developed upland classification and management documents for western North Dakota, western South Dakota, and eastern Montana. We have sampled and analyzed approximately 10,000 plots to define our types. The North American landmass that we have developed classifications for include over 577,500 square miles.
